WHY WE EXIST
Sister's With A Dream gives girls ages 12–18 a place where they can feel supported, encouraged, heard, and reminded that their dreams matter.
We do more than tell girls to believe in themselves. We spend time with them, listen to them, teach them, encourage them, and give them opportunities to grow.
During our monthly meetings, we talk about things girls are dealing with in real life. We have conversations about confidence, self-esteem, friendships, making good decisions, handling emotions, school, leadership, goals, their future, and becoming the young women they want to be.
The girls take part in activities, group discussions, worksheets, challenges, and experiences that help them discover their strengths, use their voice, make positive choices, set goals, and think about what they want their future to look like.
We also introduce them to new opportunities. Girls can meet positive role models and guest speakers, explore careers, learn about college and trade schools, build life skills, take part in community service, attend special events, and experience things they may not normally have the opportunity to experience.
Sometimes a girl needs more than someone telling her, “You can do it.” She needs someone willing to listen to her, encourage her, guide her, show her new possibilities, and continue showing up.

We want every girl in our program to understand that where she starts does not have to determine where she finishes. We want her to grow in confidence, make positive decisions, discover her purpose, prepare for her future, and believe that her goals and dreams are possible.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to empower middle and high school girls through mentorship, leadership development, education, mental wellness support, and community engagement. We strive to build confidence, provide positive role models, and equip young women with the tools they need to succeed academically, emotionally, and personally. So they can confidently pursue their goals.
HOW WE EMPOWER EVERY GIRL
OUR MONTHLY PROGRAM
Our regular program year runs August through June, with June dedicated to our end-of-program celebration. Our first program year runs October 2026 through June 2027. Monthly meetings combine mentoring, group discussions, and hands-on activities for girls ages 12–18 in East Texas.
2026–2027 Monthly Program
November: Career Exploration & College & Trade Schools
Explore career interests, college and trade-school pathways, and preparation steps. Include guidance for juniors and seniors on finding and tracking scholarships.
December: Finance
Practice budgeting, saving, and making thoughtful spending choices. Learn the difference between needs and wants.
January: Communication with Adults
Practice asking questions, expressing needs respectfully, and communicating with parents, teachers, mentors, and other adults.
February: Self-Esteem
Recognize personal strengths, practice positive self-talk, and learn to value yourself beyond comparison with others.
March: Vision Goal Setting
Create a vision for your future, set realistic goals, and identify small steps you can take toward them.
April: Community Service & Leadership
Help others through community service while practicing teamwork, taking initiative, and learning to lead with care.
May: Mental Wellness
Explore everyday ways to manage stress, recognize emotions, care for yourself, and ask a trusted adult for support.
June: Dream Big Celebration
End the program year with a celebration party, recognize the girls’ growth and accomplishments, and reflect on their future goals.
SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT FOR OUR JUNIORS & SENIORS
For our high school juniors and seniors, Sister's With A Dream provides additional support as they begin preparing for college, trade school, career training, and life after high school.
We help girls learn how to find scholarship opportunities that may fit their educational goals, interests, achievements, community involvement, and future plans.
Finding a scholarship is only the beginning. We also help our girls understand the application process so they do not have to feel overwhelmed trying to figure everything out on their own.
Our scholarship support includes helping juniors and seniors find scholarship opportunities they may qualify for, understand eligibility requirements, keep track of deadlines, organize required documents, understand application instructions, and stay on top of each step of the process.
We also help them prepare personal statements and scholarship essays while making sure their own story, goals, experiences, and voice remain at the center of what they submit.
Before an application is submitted, we can help girls review it for missing information and make sure they have followed the scholarship instructions.
Just as important, we encourage them to keep applying. Not every scholarship application will result in an award, and we want our girls to understand that one “no” does not mean they stop trying.
We want our juniors and seniors to feel prepared, organized, confident, and supported as they search for opportunities that can help make education after high school more affordable.

Roots & Rise: Send Our Girls to Washington, D.C.
Help 14 East Texas girls ages 12–18 and six volunteer chaperones take a four-day, three-night educational journey to learn African American history as American history, together.

Girl’s Gone Fishing: Confidence in The Great Outdoors
Date: November 14, 2026
Time: 11:00 a.m.
Location: Gladewater Lake
For: Sister’s With A Dream participants
Sponsor: Bass Pro Shops
Girls will experience the peace of fishing and the pride of learning a new skill with guidance from volunteers. Bait, fishing rods with reels, and other fishing gear will be provided. Participants may bring their own gear if available. The event includes water safety guidance and supplies, learning which fish they may keep and when to release them, and transportation to and from the event with parent/guardian permission.

Partner With Aunt Sandra for Feed the Homeless

Location: Garfield Community Center
Sister’s With A Dream will partner with Aunt Sandra to serve and support individuals experiencing homelessness. Participating girls and volunteers will have the opportunity to give back, serve others, and make a positive difference in the community.
